Frequently asked questions.
Honest answers about jumping spiders, our enclosures, and what to expect from your order.
About Jumping Spiders
Are jumping spiders dangerous?+
No. Bold jumpers are gentle and curious. Their venom is for prey only and is medically insignificant to humans.
How long do they live?+
Females typically live around 1.5–2 years. Males live closer to 1 year.
How big do they get?+
Adult Bold jumpers reach about 1.5 cm (0.5 inch) body length — palm-of-your-hand sized.
Are they good for kids?+
Yes, with adult supervision. They are gentle but small and fragile — careful handling matters.
Care & Feeding
What do they eat?+
Juveniles eat small flies (Drosophila). Adults eat small crickets, mealworms, and the occasional waxworm.
How often do they need care?+
A light mist and food check 1–2 times per week is plenty. They thrive on quiet routine.
Do they need heat or lighting?+
Room temperature is fine (68–80°F). Indirect natural light during the day is plenty — no special lamps required.
Do they need a big enclosure?+
No. Vertical space matters more than floor space. Our Signature enclosure is sized perfectly for an adult Bold jumper.
